Organization & Planning
Below is a buyer assortment plan for Fred Meyer junior shorts during period 3 of their 2014 calendar year. The documents explain my selection process after analyzing numbers and forecasting trends, as well as my final plans & examples of some selections. My plan met the total planned units goals, OTB (open to buy) budget, and the MU% (mark up percentage); all while encorporating a balance of fashion forward and classic styles.
GOALS & OVERALL PLAN

-Reviewed SP 2013 shorts
-Created a color-coded Excel sheet
-Marking shorts over 80% sell through green, 70% yellow, 60%
orange, and crossed out and shorts that were below 55% sell through
-Searched trend forecasts to reference colors, fabrics & styles
-Created a photo gallery for ease of comparison & selection
-Ordered the shorts from top sellers to least sell through percentage
-Mainly focused on past numbers (80% & 90% sell through) and new
styles from popular fashion trends
